Bucks Pups — Buck's Dog Training
Nicole's breeding program is built around Siberian Huskies and German Shepherds — plus select mixed litters — bred first and foremost for service-dog work. Every breeding parent is genetic- and health-tested before any pairing. Past placements have gone on to work as service dogs, police K9s, bomb and drug detection, protection sport, and devoted family pets.

Our program focuses on Siberian Huskies and German Shepherds, with select mixed litters when the pairing serves the work. We pick the lines for the work, not the look.
Every breeding parent goes through genetic and health testing before any pairing. No pairing happens on instinct — it happens on results.
Selection is driven by what the dog will need to do — service-dog tasks, working roles, and stable temperaments. Pet placements come from the same pool, but the breeding goals are set by the working standard.
We do not list a single price because the pairing, the placement intent, and the pre-placement training drive the number. Every conversation starts with an application and a consult.
Step 1
A refundable waitlist deposit secures your place in line for an upcoming litter. We discuss the specific litter, the parents, and the placement target on the consult call before any non-refundable money moves.
Step 2
When the litter is on the ground and the puppies are evaluated, you and we agree on the right match. A non-refundable placement deposit holds your puppy until the go-home date.
Step 3
Final balance is due at or before pickup. We provide a full puppy package — health records, vaccination history, food sample, a Buck's collar and leash, and the take-back guarantee.
We do not pair dogs that have not been screened. Specific test panels depend on the breed and the line, but the standard list for our husky and German shepherd parents includes:
Test results for the specific parents of a litter are shared with serious applicants on request.
Available litters with sire and dam profiles, litter projections, and the waitlist status live on the litters page.
Depends on the litter. The husky and German shepherd lines we breed have steady demand, especially for service-dog candidates. Typical waitlist for a specific pairing is 6-18 months. Some unexpected slots open from waitlisted applicants moving up litters — we will tell you on the consult if a closer option is realistic.
Both, in sequence. You tell us your placement intent (service-dog candidate, working role, family pet, sport prospect). We evaluate the litter at 7-8 weeks against your intent and present the right candidate(s). For service-dog candidates, the temperament test drives the choice more than your visual preference. For family pet placements there is much more flexibility.
For the life of the dog, if your situation changes and you cannot keep the dog, we take the dog back — no questions asked, no fees. We do this because it protects the dog and protects the breeding program. Better the dog comes home to us than ends up in a shelter or a bad placement.
Yes, with structured support. The owner-trainer pathway is hard work and we coach you through it via the service-dog programs (see /service-dogs). We will be honest on the consult about whether you are ready for the time commitment a service-dog candidate requires.
Visits start at 5-6 weeks. Earlier visits stress the dam and disrupt critical early neurological development. We send daily photo and short video updates from week 1 so you do not feel disconnected before the first in-person visit.
Yes. Volhard puppy aptitude testing, structured environmental exposure (surfaces, sounds, novel objects), and positive handling start within the first few weeks. The 8-16 week socialization window starts before you even take the puppy home.
Standard puppy go-home (typically 8-9 weeks): first round of DAPP, deworming, microchipped, vet-checked, and a written health record. Future vaccines are on your vet schedule.
We breed primarily husky and German shepherd lines and select mixed litters. For other breeds we have a referral network of breeders we trust. Ask on the consult.
